The only comforting thing in all this is that in comics death is cheap. Damien will be back, it might be a while ( my guess is 2-3 years ) but he'll be back none the less. I mean look at his older brother. Jason was literally part of the the Bucky clause, the comic book exception the death is cheap rule, and he came back! So personally I'm just thinking of Damien sunning himself on some tropical beach vacation, drinking a soda while he waits for his contract to get renewed rather than thinking of him being physically dead.
Well, you were right. Damian's coming back. At least, there's an effort being made to bring him back. DC has a great opportunity to make a very great story here and have Bruce fail to resurrect his son. But, they probably won't.
I have to admit, I am very torn on Damian's death. On one hand, I deeply miss the little demon and wish that he would just be resurrected already. On my more logical side, though, I realize that that would make his death altogether stupid and pointless and I don't want to ruin any of that by having him come back. If he is resurrected, then there isn't a reason to care about him in the way that one can only show to the deceased...
I don't see the big deal with comic deaths anymore. Damian will most likely be resurrected, as is the case with about 98% of comics characters, and therefore I have lost all care and emotion for these kinds of things, because I know the characters will return in yet another amateurish story arch.
Though, all that aside, this is a wonderfully composed piece that captures the characters' emotions brilliantly. Well done.
